WOMEN'S 2006-2007 COLLEGE RANKINGS
UPA TOP 25 RANKINGS
The UPA Top 25 rankings is an algorithm-based ranking system that ranks all teams with at least five games reported on the UPA Score Reporter Tool (SRT). The algorithm assigns a rating to each game based on the score, the strength of the opponent, and how long ago the game was and then averages each team's ratings. The rankings come out once a week during the season, starting in March.
RRI RANKINGS
The RRI rankings is another algorith-based ranking system that is based on the NCAA Hockey's KRACH ranking system. A Win Confidence Score is assigned to each game and represents how likely a team is to win a re-match of that game, based on the score. This allows the system to generate score predictions for teams in addition to the rankings.
2006-2007 NUMP RANKINGS
The National Ultimate Media Panel (NUMP) rankings are based on the votes of committee of people across the country who closely follow women's college ultimate. Most of the panelists are coaches or dedicated alumni of women's college teams. The NUMP poll rankings were first started by Mike Gerics during the 2004-2005 season as an attempt to have a ranking system that was based more closely on actual team strength than the automated ranking systems of the UPA and RRI.
NUMP rankings from the 2005 and 2006 seasons are available here.
If you are interested in being a part of the NUMP voting, please e-mail Mike Gerics. The more diverse geographic representation the panel has, the more accurate the rankings will become.
